Rangers stationed in the uMkhuze section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park received any early Christmas present with the delivery of safety footwear. BBF Safety Group (BBF), the largest manufacturers of safety footwear in Africa, donated 55 pairs of Rigger boots to the staff of uMkhuze Game Reserve. The donation, valued at over R40 000 was gratefully accepted by Clive Dickinson, Honorary uMkhuze Officer who distributed the boots to the field rangers and support staff.
Vanessa Ronald, BBF Senior Brand Manager, said that they felt privileged to be in a position where they are able to positively contribute towards making a difference within the community and are especially proud to support the uMkhuze Gamer Reserve staff and the wonderful work that they do.
uMkhuze Conservation Manager, Eduard Goosen, said there is an increased focus on the actions of the field rangers who protect the Rhinos in the veld. The work incredibly hard in the fight against Rhino poaching and we are extremely grateful for the much-needed donation of Rigger Boots. BBF’s support makes it possible for our staff to operate efficiently as possible and focus on the job at hand.
